In our area there were 475 injuries last year.

First aid treatment to a burn things you should do:-

*Call for the Ambulance Service if the burn is severe.
*Cool the burn with plenty of cold water, for up to ten minutes.
*Remove tight items like, watches, belts, shoes or jewelry.
*Cover the burn with a clean not fluffy cloth.
*Make the patient as comfortable as possible and wait for the ambulance to arrive.

Things you should not do:-

*Do not - Remove anything that is sticking to the burn.
*Do not – Put cream or ointment on a burn.
*Do not – Burst any blisters that may have formed.
